MATCH REPORT
Coleshill travelled to Loughborough to take on the Students for the second time as their first encounter was abandoned at half time due to a frozen pitch. Coleshill were looking to establish themselves in the play off places and were confident after a fine 1-1 draw Away to 2nd placed Belper on Saturday. The Students on the other hand were in a relegation battle but were hoping for another fine result following their 1-0 win over Lichfield City on Saturday which lifted them off the bottom place.
In the words of Coleshill's Manager Harry Harris, Coleshill "Didn't get going tonight at all". Credit to Loughborough, they played some really good football. The Students took the lead on 18 minutes through Matt Rennie, and made it 2-0 on 24 minutes through Ashden Shortland. Coleshill reduced the arrears in the 44th minute with Marvellous Onabirekhanlen getting his first goal for the club, but the home side deservadly went into the break 2-1 up. The second half was more even but a second strike from Shortland on 58 minutes put the game beyond Coleshill. Manager Harry Harris must be hoping for a reaction as Coleshill play hosts to Rugby Town on Saturday, managed by former Coleshill boss Grant Joshua.
